Cyclone Kimi could re-emerge as far north Queensland prepares for heavy rainfall
“There are early indications of a renewed burst of the monsoon coming across far north Queensland and into the Coral Sea over the course of this weekend and into next week, so we’re just going to have to be mindful that Mother Nature hasn’t quite turned the tap off just yet.

“There could be further rainfall around the state’s far north and the east in the coming week and we could be talking about cyclones once again some time in the next week or two.”
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the cyclone downgrade was good news for far north Queensland communities.
“There’s still a risk of heavy rainfall remaining and there is still a flood watch in place,” she said.
