Cyclone Kimi set to slam far north Queensland, likely to hit near Innisfail as Category 2

Far north Queensland residents are hunkering down, with a tropical cyclone expected to bring destructive winds and heavy rain when it makes landfall.
The Bureau of Meteorology on Sunday declared tropical cyclone Kimi had quickly developed about 200km north to northeast of Cooktown.
It was moving south at 7km/h early on Monday morning.
The category one system is forecast to continue turning southwest and cross the state’s north coast between near Innisfail early on Tuesday morning.
