Man and daughter did not breach quarantine, authorities say

“She was transported by QAS [Queensland Ambulance Service], not a taxi or Uber, from the hospital back to the [quarantine] hotel and was then escorted by two police officers back to her room.
“I got the brief, because the father, in terms of his English fluency, was best to have the daughter travel with him. That was determined by [Queensland] Health.”
At the time of the hospital visit on Monday the pair had not yet tested positive for the more contagious B.1.1.7 strain of the virus, but were likely infectious.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young confirmed on Friday that the pair both tested positive on Tuesday January 12, the day after the hospital visit.
