Robot-revolution action-RPG Steelrising announced for Xbox Series X – TrueAchievements

Greedfall developer Spiders has announced a new game coming to the Xbox Series X: Steelrising, where you play as Marie-Antoinette’s robot bodyguard and join the revolution in an attempt to wipe out King Louis XVI’s robot army.Jehanne Rousseau, CEO of Spiders Studio, discussed the game during Nacon Connect from around the 19:30 minute-mark onward and says it’s a “new and original universe” with a “much more action-focused approach than the gameplay found in our previous titles”. You play as Aegis, an “automaton in female form” and bodyguard to Queen Marie-Antoinette. The queen wants Aegis to “put an end to the massacres carried out by the robot army of King Louis XVI” by finding her creator. Aegis has “weapons integrated into her body” and the game’s weapons range from ones on her arm “for very light combat” to alchemical rifles and heavier weapons.Rousseau says there will be more verticality in exploration, and that while exploring, you’ll come across items which can upgrade Aegis, either to make her “more powerful, more mobile or more durable”. You’ll see both familiar monuments and new ones as you make your way through Paris Rousseau lists the Grand Chatelet and the Tour du Temple.
The basic premise for making Steelrising, according to Rousseau, was: “what would have happened if Louis XVI had been a tyrant and could indulge his passion for machines and automatons to crack down on the revolution in its early stages?”Spiders’ most recent game was Greedfall, a fantasy action-RPG about a diplomat leaving the diseased Old Continent for the mysterious island of Teer Fradee. Although a little clunky at first, Greedfall has proved popular and is rated at 4.12/5 by TA community votes. Steelrising seems to be a little darker in tone, and it looks like quite a change from the natural world of Teer Fradee to the mechanical army of an alternate 1700s Paris.
There’s no word on a Steelrising release date yet, but the game will come to Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC.
