The NBA has fined the Philadelphia 76ers $32,000 after Aussie basketball star Ben Simmons reportedly attempted to skip town without the team’s knowledge.
Simmons was a mysterious late omission heading into Sunday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, sidelined with a supposed knee injury.
According to Yahoo Sports, the league was not informed in the requisite time and subsequently fined the 76ers who barely had enough players to field a roster in the aftermath of guard Seth Curry’s COVID-19 diagnosis.
