This 30-second scene, featuring Carrie confiding to Miranda about her crush on Aiden as they tuck into a pink cupcake, was all it took to catapult the store into icon status. Since the cameo, the bakery has become a worldwide phenomenon, with stores around the globe, and queues so long at their original Bleeker Street store that they’ve reportedly had to hire a bouncer and put up velvet rope.
