Exactly how Brisbane cleaner caught COVID might never be discovered
Queensland’s Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said on Tuesday that, because of the apparent increased virulence of this strain, they might never be able to say with certainty exactly how the cleaner contracted it from the returned traveller.
“This is a very contagious virus. I am not sure that we will necessarily find what led to this particular breach of the virus escaping,” Dr Young said.
“But at the same time, we will take the opportunity to make sure that everything is in place in that hotel and in all of our hotels.”
Dr Young could not put an end date on any findings from the inquiry, saying it would “depend on what they find”.
She has previously praised the cleaner’s cooperation with authorities during the contact tracing…
