Following Jay White’s post-Wrestle Kingdom 15 promo in which he said he was done with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, reports noted WWE was “making a strong play” to sign the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and the odds of him staying in NJPW were 50/50. Switchblade’s contract with the promotion was rumoured to be up at the end of January.
