Bushfire threatens lives in eastern parts of Baldivis

Lives and homes are under threat from a fire in eastern parts of Baldivis after a car caught on fire and sparked a blaze.

An emergency warning has been issued for people in the vicinity of Karnup Road, Young Road and Kwinana Freeway southbound in eastern parts of Baldivis in the City of Rockingham.

Authorities have warned people in the area they are in danger and need to act immediately to survive.

People are now being told they can leave for a safer place if the way is clear.

If people are unable to leave they need to shelter in a room away from the fire front, but where they can escape easily if necessary.

The Emergency WA website recommends people choose a room with two exits and water such as a kitchen or laundry.
