Further afield, Ms Wong said Injune in the state’s southern interior, about 425 kilometres west of Hervey Bay, broke the same record by hitting just 20.6 degrees on Friday.
Rolleston, about 150 kilometres north of Injune, did the same with a maximum of 21.2 on Friday and Emerald, about 230 kilometres west of Rockhampton, followed suit with 22.7 degrees on Saturday.

Mount William, west of Mackay, recorded 179 millimetres in the 24 hours to 9am on Monday; Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays had 154 and Ingham on state’s north coast had 136.
