Redcliffe Koala Sanctuary and Zoo opened in October 1937. It was originally next to the CWA at Redcliffe (The High School opened in 1958). The zoo was moved to Griffiths Rd, Scarborough in 1956 and the name was changed to “Paradise Zoo”. Info from David Kerr.
The Koala Sanctuary and Zoo was opened in October 1937 situated on the area where the Redcliffe High School is now . There have been other private zoos in the early years of the Peninsula as well .
