Australia vs India third Test live: Australia’s bowlers hunt Indian wickets on fifth day at SCG
Morning all!
And welcome back to the cricket blog for another day – a day five no less! It’s been a fair while since we’ve been able to say that, but thanks to some determined batting (and, let’s be honest, a fair bit of rain) this Test has gone the distance.
It’s all set up for Australia here. The Aussies need at most eight more wickets – that’s presuming Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant are both able to bat, which given their injury status, could be considered unlikely – to secure the win and take a 2-1 lead in the series. The pitch, while hardly a minefield, has produced just enough variable bounce to leave batsmen unsettled, and you would expect it to spin on a fifth day today.
