According to Bloomberg, Musk is now worth an estimated US$194.8 billion, or over AU$250 billion, which places him roughly US$9.5 billion (AU$12.2 billion) ahead of Bezos.
This boost to Musk’s fortunes came after Tesla’s stock surged by 7.9 per cent this week, marking an all-time high for the electric carmaker.
