When a profoundly deaf young woman joined an Aussie rules team, it led to one of sport’s most uplifting stories of 2020.

As they sing each phrase, all the women and coaches in unison use the hand signals of Auslan, the language of Australias deaf community. Soon they are laughing and crying in a loud chorus of content, as Jamie Powell starts laughing and crying in turn. Everybody sing and move your hands!
