Tesla Inc chief and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has surpassed Amazons top boss Jeff Bezos to become the worlds richest man, Bloomberg News says.
Including Thursdays gains in Tesla shares, Musk, 49, had a net worth of more than $US188.5 billion ($A243.6 billion), $US1.5 billion more than Bezos, the report said.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates rounds out the top three with $US134 billion.
