To a point, the 25-time Group 1 jockey felt obliged to fess up.
“I was thinking ‘this dude has not got me, he thinks he’s got me’,” Walker said.
“I remember saying that to myself, ‘just open your eyes and tell him’, ’mate, it hasn’t worked’.”
Walker visited Gazzard in Langwarrin last month to, among other things, quit smoking.
