Three West Australians who came into contact with a recently returned UK traveller with COVID-19 have gone into mandatory quarantine after a health protocol failure….
The nurse breached PPE requirements by not wearing a gown when she attended the patient’s hotel room for a welfare check.
WA Health acting director general James Williamson said normally nurses knocked on hotel doors and stand back 1.5 metres to talk with the patients but this woman was hard of hearing so she was drawn closer to her but did not put on a gown, which would have been required in that situation.
