NT Police fine Victorian woman who escaped coronavirus quarantine Howard Springs

A 33-year-old Victorian woman has been fined more than $5,000 for climbing a fence and escaping from a quarantine facility near Darwin on Tuesday.

Northern Territory police say the woman arrived from Sydney over the weekend and was ordered to quarantine at the Howard Springs Quarantine Facility.
Returned travellers watched in “stunned disbelief” as she left the facility near on Tuesday.
Police said she was found 200 metres from the facility about 15 minutes later, and posed no risk to the public before she was put back in quarantine.
