Police officer in Jacob Blake shooting cleared as teenager who fired on protesters pleads not guilty

US prosecutors have cleared a white police officer over last year’s shooting of black man Jacob Blake, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during an incident that prompted street protests and inflamed racial tensions in the United States.
Key points:
- Prosecutors say police officer Rusten Sheskey was acting in self defence when he shot Jacob Blake
- The District Attorney said Mr Blake admitted several times to investigators he had a knife
- Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot demonstrators during a subsequent protest, has pleaded not guilty
The decision comes as a teenager who opened fire on protesters demonstrating against the police shooting, killing two, pleaded not guilty to a series of charges.
