‘Horror’ isn’t the reaction any bride hopes to inspire, but that’s exactly what Princess Diana’s dress designer felt when the royal-to-be arrived at her wedding.
Almost 40 years on from the 1981 royal wedding, the Princess of Wales’ voluminous dress is still considered one of the most iconic in recent memory.
However, on the day it didn’t look quite the way couturier Elizabeth Emanuel, who designed the gown with husband David, had envisioned.
