‘Easy for criminals’: Security warning over QR code scams – Yahoo Finance Australia
Australians lost more than $100,000 to QR code scams in 2020.

Australias cyber security and intelligence agency has sounded the alarm on the dangers of criminals using QR codes to scam Australians.
The use of QR, or Quick Response codes have become widespread in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic as businesses and venues use the square graphics to allow visitors to check in.
The NSW government on Monday said all hospitality businesses needed to use the state governments QR code system in order to streamline contact tracing efforts.
