Northern Territory Police charge ATV driver after crash that leaves passenger critical

Northern Territory police have charged an alleged drink-driver over an all-terrain vehicle crash that left a passenger fighting for her life.

- The male driver faces four driving charges
- The female passenger was in a critical condition Sunday night
- The driver will appear in Darwin Local Court on January 5
Police said the crash involving the Honda ATV happened on Bees Creek Road, 34 kilometres south of Darwin, about 1:30am on Sunday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said the vehicle left the road, hit a street sign and rolled several times before landing on its roof in a culvert.
“The occupants of the vehicle were not wearing helmets but it appears they did have their seatbelts on,” he said.
