Los Angeles hospitals dont have enough space or staff to cope with the COVID-19 crisis as the city emerges as the United States latest epicentre.
Intensive care units have filled to capacity, forcing hospitals to set up tents in car parks to house extra beds.
On New Years Eve, LA County reported 7,546 people were in hospital with coronavirus, with more than a 1000 of those in ICU.
The toughest thing right now isnt just space, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti told National Public Radio.
