The AstraZeneca-Oxford shot has been manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII) the world’s largest producer of vaccines under a licensing deal with AstraZeneca. Some 50 million doses are already stockpiled.
India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) is yet to announce the dosage, but SII had applied for a two full-dose regimen 28 days apart.
