Glenn Maxwell continued his glorious summer with the blade in Hobart tonight, but his blitz of 70 runs from just 37 balls wasn’t enough to steer the Melbourne Stars home against the Hurricanes.
The Stars looked to be flying to victory against the men in purple as Maxwell blasted his second half-century of the tournament, but from the moment the Melbourne skipper lost his wicket at 5-112 – in pursuit of 165 to win – the visitors’ innings took an extraordinary nosedive.
