Search on for missing Mary River midnight swimmer

A major search and rescue operation is under way to find a man who went missing during a midnight swim with friends near Gympie overnight.
Police say the 20-year-old had been in waist deep water, lit with headlights near the group’s camp ground along the Mary River, when the rest of the group noticed he was gone.

Three swift water rescue crews were called to the scene at the corner of Traveston Cross and Dobson roads in Kybong but could not locate the man, police said in a statement.
