Whether it was protecting his hero Don Bradmans name from exploitation or preventing same sex couples from accessing IVF, John Howard often injected much of his own values into policymaking during 2000.
The 2000 cabinet papers released on Friday by the National Archives of Australia reveal a number of captains calls that were quintessentially Howard.
Among them was the then-prime ministers decision to take an unprecedented step toward protecting Bradmans name using the corporations law.
