After miserable start to their BBL10 campaign that saw them lose three of their first four matches the other was a washout against the Stars the Scorchers produced a complete performance with bat, ball and in the field to win by seven wickets with 14 balls to spare and spoil Adelaides New Years party.
Chasing 147 runs for victory at the Adelaide Oval, Scorchers opener Jason Roy set the tone with an energetic yet risk-free start to the innings after his team won the bat flip and opted to field first.
