Ride-share driver carjacked before multi-car M1 crash
Three teenage boys are accused of carjacking a ride-share driver at a Gold Coast service station before being involved in a four-car crash further north on the M1.
The 31-year-old male ride-share driver was walking back to his Toyota Camry at a service station on the M1 in the Gold Coast suburb of Coomera about 11.10pm on Wednesday.
It will be alleged the three boys, two aged 17 and one 16, attacked him and stole his car. The victim was not seriously injured.
About 20 minutes after the attack, there was a multi-vehicle crash on the M1 at Ormeau, about 10 kilometres north along the M1 from the robbery site.
