Beauty and the beast do battle once again in the latest video-game adaptation from the director and star of the Resident Evil series.
Then a sandstorm whisks them away to another world which is to say that where the Resident Evil films were marked by recurrent allusions to Alice in Wonderland, here an even looser template appears to be The Wizard of Oz.
There are no Munchkins, nor anything like a wicked witch. Theres no-one to welcome the lieutenant and her team to their new surroundings: a second, still more abstract desert, with finer, paler sand.
But Artemis and company dont have much time to mull over the puzzling circumstances…
