Qld seeking more on latest NSW cluster
The decision was made to stop those in Greater Sydney from entering Queensland without undergoing hotel quarantine.
The second Sydney cluster that has emerged has triggered no further decisions but Ms D’Ath said they were monitoring the cluster.
“We are watching the situation in New South Wales very closely,” she said.
“Queensland’s chief health officer is in constant contact with her NSW counterparts and receives regular updates on the growing COVID outbreaks in that state.
“Queensland has strong border measures in place in response to the Sydney clusters, based on expert health advice.
“We’ll continue to follow the advice of our Chief Health Officer and will always act to keep Queenslanders safe.”
