Sunday’s wild weather in Victoria should serve as a warning for what to expect during the summer ahead, according to the Country Fire Authority’s chief officer.

Strong winds that accompanied a cool change in the early evening brought down trees, damaged homes, and left thousands of properties without power.
Wind gusts of up to 120 kilometres per hour were recorded on Port Philip Bay and reached 113kph onshore at St Kilda.
One apartment at St Kilda had its roof ripped off, with part of the roof landing 200 metres away.
