Huge delays as motorists leave city

Northbound traffic is slow on the Gateway Motorway as far back as Deagon and on Gympie Arterial Rd at Bald Hills. The heavy congestion continues all the way to Beerburrum, north of Caboolture. Traffic cameras have captured cars at a standstill at Burpengary.

Motorists heading south out of Brisbane are also facing a long trip, with heavy traffic on the M1. The QLD/NSW border checkpoint has also topped 60 minute wait times this morning as well,…
