Domestic abuse survivor Kim O’Reilly calls for football clubs to ban violent men

When Kim O’Reilly met Jake Frecker at a mutual friend’s birthday party in January 2018, she liked him straight away.

“He was very charismatic, life of the party and was easy to talk to,” Ms O’Reilly said.
“We were both very social people and very career driven, had the same choice in movies and a lot of mutual friends.”

The pair became an item quickly, but just three weeks in, Ms O’Reilly started to see red flags in her new boyfriend’s behaviour.
“It was a couple of little lies that I noticed about his job, his friendships and his past relationship that didn’t add up,” she said.
