Fireworks shows go bang
Statistics obtained by the Courier-Mail show the number of ‘notified displays’ reported to Resources Safety and Health Qld has fallen to 73 over the Christmas and New Years period, down from 96 in December 2019 and a cracking 268 in December 2018. It comes as some Queensland councils pull out of their annual New Year’s Eve fireworks over concerns about social distancing, while others stay the course.
