Sony Finally Solves the PS4 Game Version Confusion on PS5 – PCMag AU
The PS5 will now warn you if a PS4 version of a game is being loaded with a pop-up notification.

Last month, it was discovered that some Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War owners were playing the PS4 version of the game on their PS5 by mistake. It wasn’t their fault, and Sony has finally fixed the problem in its latest update.
The problem occurred because opting to download all content for Call of Duty on PS5 meant the PS4 version of the game was downloaded, too. Then, for some unknown reason, the PS5 could default to loading the PS4 version without telling the player. As…
