Ben Melham has avoided the prospect of a mandatory two-year ban but Racing Victoria stewards are pushing for the star jockey to rubbed out for eight months for a string of betting offences.
Melham fronted the Victorian Racing Tribunal on Tuesday for day two of a hearing into a betting charges laid against him in April this year.
