South Australia records no new coronavirus cases despite testing surge linked to New South Wales arrivals
South Australia has recorded no new cases of coronavirus, despite an influx of arrivals from New South Wales prior to border restrictions coming into place on Monday.
Three cases reported on Sunday are still active, but all are staying in medi-hotels.
Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier described the situation as “very good news” ahead of Christmas.
“We’ve got no new cases in South Australia — no cases from the Parafield cluster and of course no cases in our state from New South Wales,” she said.
More than 4,000 tests were performed in South Australia on Monday, which Professor Spurrier said was a “large increase” on previous days.
