Helen Hallett – a trailblazer for women in lifesaving – Surf Life Saving Queensland
40 years ago Helen Hallet became one of the first women to receive her Surf Lifesaving accreditation, known as the Bronze Medallion.
She may not have known it at the time but Helen was part of only a small group of women who would trail-blaze the path for today's female lifesavers.
Over the past 12 months, female lifesavers across Queensland volunteered over 116,200 hours to protecting our beaches!
