The 19-year record for fastest goal in the top flight of Italian football has been bettered in lighting quick fashion.

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao is now in the record books after scoring the fastest ever goal in the Italian Serie A competition.
Leao needed just six seconds in his side’s away match against Sassuolo to score the game’s opening goal.
Statistics supplier Opta said the Portuguese youngster’s goal beat the previous record of eight seconds set by Piacenza’s Paolo Poggi against Fiorentina in 2001.
Milan later tweeted that Leao’s goal came after precisely 6.2 seconds.
