Newnham prepared a double with talented sprinter Big Parade and tough stayer Gone Bye at Royal Randwick on Saturday to give his stable 22 wins so far this season, just six fewer than the number of city winners he trained in the whole of 2019-20.
He has gone from being a fringe top 10 trainer in previous years to a lofty third position on the Sydney premiership this season behind the much-larger stables of Chris Waller (56 wins)…
