Two men released from asylum detention at Kangaroo Point hotel
Multicultural Affairs Queensland director-general Deidre Mulkerin passed the question on to her executive director, Wayne Briscoe, who said the department understood at least one person had been released from a Kangaroo Point hotel.
“We understand that last week one person was released, provided a small amount of funding and provided a one-way ticket to Melbourne where that person had links,” Mr Briscoe said, adding that the state government was not given advance notice of any movements.
