Tasmania Police called to investigate public servant over sexual abuse allegations, as scandal widens

Another Tasmanian public servant has been stood down over an allegation relating to potential sexual abuse in the north of the state — the fourth person stood down this month.
In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, a Government spokesperson said the allegation against the state service employee from the north had been “referred to Tasmania Police for assessment”.
The announcement comes after a similar statement was released on Monday announcing a “state service employee from the north of the state” had been stood down over “allegations of sexual misconduct relating to a minor”.
Separate announcements were made on December 4 and 10 relating to allegations of child sex abuse against public servants in northern Tasmania.
