Teen accused of bashing 71-year-old neighbour in Brisbane unit

A teenager is due to front court this morning after he allegedly attacked his 71-year-old neighbour in Brisbane last night.
Police said the 18-year-old, who lives in the same Northgate unit complex, broke into the older man’s home about 7:00pm.
It is alleged he hit the man several times in the head and body before fleeing to his nearby unit.
The 71-year-old man suffered significant injuries and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Officers arrested the teenager at the unit complex and charged him with grievous bodily harm and break and enter with intent.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
