‘Had his time’: Warne and Waugh clash over Smith’s captaincy claims – Fox Sports
Shane Warne and Mark Waugh were involved in a spirited debate over Steve Smith’s captaincy claims, with the King of Spin feeling his time has come and gone.
Smith is eligible to captain his country again after serving his suspension for the South Africa sandpaper scandal, but was overlooked in favour of Matthew Wade for a recent Twenty20 match in the injury enforced absence of Aaron Finch.
I would have made Steve Smith captain, Waugh said on Fox Sports Heavy Roller Podcast.
