During the 2020 Game Awards livestream on December 10th, 2020, Nintendo officially announced Sephiroth would be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the third official fighter of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 DLC. The popular ARMS character Min Min was the first Fighters Pass Vol. 2 character announced earlier in the spring, and Minecraft’s Steve was subsequently announced in the fall.
Obviously, the timetable for any future announcements has been in a state of flux due to the ongoing pandemic….
