Fraser fire contained, island set to reopen
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service this afternoon said they were handing back control of the fire to Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service after the fire was contained, thanks to a huge effort from firefighters and the weekend’s rainfall.

As of yesterday afternoon, QFES reported a number of fires still burning on the Island with an ‘advice’ level warning still current.
