The giraffe herd at Whipsnade Zoo have welcomed an adorable six-foot-tall new arrival this week.
The female calf was born at the same time the first coronavirus vaccine was given to 90-year-old Margaret Keenan – on Tuesday December 8 – which zoo staff have dubbed “the day of hope”.
In honour of this important moment the baby reticulated giraffe was named ‘Margaret’ by her keepers at the zoo in Whipsnade, Bedfordshire.
