President Donald Trump says the Pfizer vaccine will “soon end the pandemic once and for all” as US endures record COVID infections and deaths.

“The pandemic may have begun in China but we are ending it right here in America.”
Trump said his administration had “given Pfizer and other companies a great deal of money hoping this would be the outcome”. Unlike other pharma companies, Pfizer opted not to take money from the US government for research and development into its vaccine.
