Maxi’s brutal knock, forgotten Aussie star’s six-wicket rampage end Heat – Fox Sports
The Melbourne Stars’ long quest for a BBL title has started in perfect fashion, with last year’s finalists beating the Brisbane Heat in Canberra by six wickets
Having restricted the Heat to just 125 runs, the Stars stumbled in the chase early with Marcus Stoinis out for a second ball duck and new recruit Andre Fletcher out for 12.
But Glenn Maxwell (46 from 26) combined brilliantly with Hilton Cartwright (46* off 42) to make light work of the chase, winning the match with 17 balls remaining.
